‘’Nothing in history is permanent. The present modifies the past, most of the time by a slow, almost imperceptible process of erosion’’ Richard Long.

My work is about the idea of the ephemeral within nature; the concept that nothing is permanent. I have been exploring this idea through simple processes through my work that I have shown by using materials such as grass, soil and hessian. The choice of materials is to reveal a paradox, for example how quickly something can die and yet be ever present. Therefore, I use grass because of its persistence. I explore this idea through my work because I am interested in revealing how nature endures in the urban environment e.g. weeds growing through the cracks in the pavement.
